Buenos Aires
Feb. 2nd, 2009 07:37 amWell, I thought I wouldn´t do this, but here I am, posting from Buenos Aires. We arrived yesterday (Saturday afternoon), and spent the time doing a little bit of exploring. We´re staying at the Art Hotel, where we just finished a scrumptious breakfast - breads, jamon, cheeses, great cafe con leche, and the ubiquitous dolce de leche (caramel cream).
We walked the San Telmo Market where there were lots of stalls selling local art, along with antiques (read, stuff), and more standard antiques shops. Some incredible street musicians (guitarists, mostly) and lots of eye candy. May gay men, and some of the most beautiful beards I´ve seen. We ended up with dinner at La Brigada, with steak, steak, and more steak! We did have salads, and of course, french fries. It was topped off with a great bottle of argentinian pinot reserva. We celbrated our friend chris´ birthday, and our marriage.
We´ve got an official tour set for today, and then more exploring, before going on to Iguazu falls tomorrow morning.
Hat´s off to
pink_halen for his invaluable tips, and for being here before us.
