Well, pink_halen  posted today about the winter solstice - it's defintely here.  From the chill in the air to the quick evening sunsets, the long winter nights are here.  I finished a whirlwind of meetings with a client today, only to come home to pack for the trip back east.  I leave for Philly in the early AM, and will be back the following Sunday.  As Christina, my acupuncturist noted last night - my pulse is "guarded."

What is it about family that can bring such conflicted feelings?  I guess I'm going to Philly to try to come to some kind of resolution, but I don't think I will.  But I will enjoy myself and the company of my Mom and Aunt while I am there.  We'll probably go to a casino, which to us is only a wee bit more serious than rootbeer1 's canasta games. 

I'd love to get out and about and explore the town on my own, but I'm not holding out for it, yet.  A lot will depend on the weather.  In any case, I get to swing by Ohio on the way home, to hook up with David and his family for a couple of days.  Being with non-blood-related family is always easier, but it means I'll need to provide support to David.

In any case enjoy the upcoming week, however you may celebrate it.  Peace to you all this season.  And here's a wish that Mr. Obama will come to his senses about Mr. Warren....
