Willits Frontier Days

Every year, around the 4th, the town of Willits hosts an event called Frontier Days.  Part Rodeo, part 4th of July Celebration, it's one of the few times of the year when everyone celebrates together - hippies, ranchers, loggers, bikers - everyone.  There's a carnival that comes to town for a few nights, and a big town beef barbecue in the main park.  Frontier Days was started as a way to raise money for the Frank Howard Memorial Hospital, and continues to do so, now that a brand new hospital is in the works.  Frank Howard was the owner of Seabiscuit.

I just love it!
